J.R. Stever, hails from Highland, Illinois. He attended Western Illinois University where he graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science.

After graduating Saint Louis University School of law in 2006, J.R. joined The Law Offices of Michael R. Bilbrey, P.C. He is currently concentrating his practice on personal injury lawsuits. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois Bar Association.

J.R. is an avid amateur sailor. He is a member of Carlyle Yacht Club and has competed in National and International events.

J.R. and his wife, Alison, live in Highland, Illinois with their children.
